Spoon Knife 3: Incursions is the third volume of the annual Spoon Knife anthology from Autonomous Press. Weird Luck co-creators Nick Walker and Andrew M. Reichart served as the guest editors for this volume, in addition to contributing a pair of brand new Weird Luck stories — Andrew’s story “Space Pirate Stowaway” and Nick’s story “Waiting for the Zeppelins.”
In the novelette-length “Space Pirate Stowaway,” a powerful entity trapped in the form of a cat stows away on the interdimensional pirate ship Ace of Shadows, only to discover that there’s another, even more dangerous stowaway already on board.
“Waiting for the Zeppelins” is another adventure of the incorrigable Smiley, who this time is on a mission from the Reality Patrol to stop an alternate-reality version of Sigmund Freud and his zeppelin armada from destroying the city of London. “Waiting for the Zeppelins” takes place 27 years after “Bianca and the Wu-Hernandez” (Nick’s story in Spoon Knife 2) and about 10 months before Smiley’s appearance in the Weird Luck webcomic.
Spoon Knife 3: Incursions also contains the short story “Kill Your Darlings,” by Verity Reynolds, which is the first (and definitely not the last) crossover story between the Weird Luck saga and Reynolds’ Non-Compliant Space series.
Or, if you’d rather give your business to your local bookstore, bookstores can order Spoon Knife via the same distribution catalogs they order their other books from. Nick and Andrew love it when people persuade their local bookstores to carry Autonomous Press books.
