Whew – Cordy’s safe in the back seat!
You might recall that Agent Sojac and the unfortunate LATV pilot loaded Cordy on board in the final panel of Page 9. The pilot stashed her in the back seat during the seconds in between the end of Page 9 and the beginning of Page 10 – and here she is.
Because, come on, what kind of foul, evil-minded webcomic writers would write a script where Cordy got left behind on the roof and eaten by the tentacle-beast after everything she and Agent Sojac have been through in this chapter?
Not us. If we ended the chapter that way, Agent Sojac would be so mad she’d probably quit the comic, and then where would we be? The story just wouldn’t be the same without her.
That giant fishbowl-looking thing surrounding the building is the “containment field around the building” that the Reality Patrol put up to protect the rest of the city from the incursion, as mentioned back on Page 5.
This containment field is similar to the force dome known as the ThingTown Dome, which figures prominently in the storyline of the Insurgent Otherworld serial novel on the Weird Luck Patreon site. The main difference between the two domes is that the ThingTown Dome is smaller and less transparent. Once the tentacle-beast finishes eating that building from the inside, the neighbors are probably going to wish that this force field was also less transparent.
See you next Wednesday,
